Curriculum: 

Water Explorers is designed to introduce your child to swimming and teach you how to safely support your child in the water.  

Our team of certified instructors teaches the fundamental skills of safe swimming through fun songs and games that foster a lifelong love for swimming and physical activity. Meanwhile, parents will learn proper holding techniques and exercises that can help support their swimmer’s learning process.  

Upon course completion, your child will have the foundational skills needed to progress into our age-based Swim School classes, which offer more concentrated goals for cognitive and psychomotor development.  

 

Requirements:

  • Water Explorers is intended for new participants and is open to ages 4 to 36 months. 
  • No previous swimming experience is required.

 

Know Before You Go:

  • One parent or guardian must accompany a child in the water. The parent/guardian does not need to know how to swim as our pool is kept at a shallow depth generally between 3 and 4 feet.
  • Our pool temperature is kept between 89- and 91-degrees Fahrenheit—a perfect temperature for the little ones!
  • What to Bring:
    • Swim suit
    • Rubberized swim diaper
    • Disposable swim diaper
    • Towel
    • Swim cap (for participants with hair length past their chin)
    • Goggles (optional)
    • Pool deck footwear (at your discretion)
    • Lock for locker room (for the safety of your possessions)

 

Upon Arrival: 

  • Check in with a Guest Service Representative at the front desk when you enter campus.  They will direct you to the appropriate changing room, with family changing rooms available for your convenience.   
  • Park your stroller in the lobby.  
  • Classes begin and end promptly at their assigned times.  
  • Instructors and Aquatics personnel will be happy to answer any questions you have.  

 

After Class: 

  • For those who need a few more experiences to get acclimated, please feel free to reregister for additional Water Explorers classes. 
  • For those who are seeking more progressive instruction, please feel free to browse our Swim School classes for all registration options.
