Every school year, Asphalt Green hosts Recess Enhancement Program (REP) Field Day to celebrate and thank all the kids who participated in REP, our active and exercise-based recess program. On May 16, more than 200 kids from three schools in Harlem and one school in Queens came to our Upper East Side campus for a day of fun and games.
The REP team set up eight fun-filled stations for students, including kickball, football, dance party freeze tag, an obstacle course and water balloon toss. Kids were smiling, laughing, and most importantly moving and sweating.
Teachers, coaches and our corporate volunteers from Credit Suisse even joined in on the fun and played at each station. The day ended with a healthy lunch for students and volunteers, plus lots of high fives for every child.
