New York, NY (November 8, 2018) – Asphalt Green is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has elected Caroline Hribar and Barrie Zesiger to serve as co-chairpersons of the Board. Andy Nussbaum, Asphalt Green’s outgoing chairman, is stepping down after 10 years following his recent appointment as chairman of the Amherst College Board of Trustees.  

“I am thrilled to welcome Barrie and Caroline as our new board co-chairs,” said Asphalt Green Executive Director Maggy Siegel. “They each bring a wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as years of dedication to Asphalt Green and our mission to promote sports and fitness for New Yorkers of all means and abilities. We thank Andy for his tremendous service to Asphalt Green and the extraordinary legacy he has helped develop over so many years.”  

Nussbaum, who will continue to serve as an Asphalt Green Board member, commented, “Serving Asphalt Green and the tens of thousands of New Yorkers we reach every year, providing opportunities for elite athletes and recreational exercisers alike, has been a sheer joy for me, and I know that AG can, and will, do even more.”

Caroline Hribar, who joined the Asphalt Green Board in 2012, serves as Chief of Staff at Bionic, a collective of entrepreneurs, investors, and makers who help large enterprises build new growth. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Asphalt Green and was a strategy consultant and early-stage startup executive. Hribar noted, “Asphalt Green has been part of my family’s life for many years. I am passionate about the transformative power of sports and fitness, and I look forward to building on our success in the communities we serve and exploring new opportunities for growth and impact.” Hribar holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College. She is actively involved with Dartmouth as a member of the Campaign Executive Committee and has been a Board member of the Dartmouth Club of New York and a founder of the Centennial Circle, a groundbreaking women’s leadership initiative at the college.

Barrie Zesiger joined the Board in 1994, and she and her husband Al were the founding donors of Asphalt Green’s AquaCenter.  “Asphalt Green is home for Al and me,” Zesiger said. “We couldn’t be more proud and excited about its future. I look forward to my partnership with Caroline and our Board colleagues.” The Zesigers were Founding Partners and Principals at Zesiger Capital Group, a money management firm focused on investing in emerging technologies and markets. Previously, Zesiger was an environmental lawyer. Zesiger received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Stanford University. Her community service includes past membership on the Boards of the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund. She is actively involved with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, currently serving on the Corporation Board and its Executive Committee.
