More than 15 Deloitte employees came to Asphalt Green to volunteer and help out with our free learn-to-swim Waterproofing program on June 6 for Deloitte Impact Day, the company’s national volunteer day. The volunteers jumped into our Olympic-size pool at our Upper East Side campus and assisted instructors with swim instruction for second graders. Volunteers helped with two sessions of Waterproofing, working with students from Central Park East II school. After their lesson, the Waterproofing students were treated to a healthy lunch to celebrate their final lesson of the school year.

Since 1993, Asphalt Green has taught more than 30,000 kids to swim for free through Waterproofing. This year, 2,333 children from 39 schools are learning how to swim in five pools across Manhattan and the South Bronx.
