Q: How long have you been working at Asphalt Green?
A: I’ve been working at Asphalt Green since summer 2015.
Q: What do you do at Asphalt Green?
A: I’m a lifeguard. It’s my responsibility to make sure our guests are safe and that our pool deck is well maintained.
Q: What is your favorite aspect of working at Asphalt Green?
A: This is my first job, so it’s been a new experience. I have learned a lot—things like time management and working with a team. I really love the people. My colleagues and managers are great!
Q: What is one of your fondest memories of Asphalt Green so far?
A: I learned how to be a lifeguard through Asphalt Green. It was really exciting to learn all of the different rescue techniques.
Q: How did you get into the aquatics industry?
A: I am a student at Manhattan Center, and Asphalt Green provided lifeguard training to some of its students. I was lucky enough to be selected and have been embracing the aquatics industry since.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: My grandmother inspires me. She is very supportive and always has my back.
Q: Who is your favorite sports team? Why?
A: I don’t have a favorite team; I’m just a fan of sports in general. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch.
Q: When did you learn to swim?
A: I started swimming when I was in preschool.
Q: What is the best swim tip you’ve received?
A: The best swim tip I’ve received applies to all areas of life: “Take your time, and not try to do everything at once. Focus on the small stuff.”
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: Never give up on your dreams.
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I love music. I used to play the viola, so I really love the orchestra.
