Chilly weather did not stop princesses, superheroes, Ninja Turtles, ghosts, and goblins from flooding both our Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses for Asphalt Screams, a free family-friendly Halloween event. Over 3,000 people attended on October 28 for an afternoon of active, spooky fun.
Kids had a blast and got their dose of physical activity with sports on our athletic fields, gaga, and more. The theater at our Battery Park City campus transformed into Spookytown, where children heard scary stories and interacted with our resident mad scientist.
The event was made possible thanks to our sponsors: New York Presbyterian, Atlantic Tomorrow, FLIK International, Whole Foods, Battery Park Pharmacy, The Brearley School, The Chapin School, Harry’s Italian, and Dentistry for Children and Orthodontics. We also want to thank our volunteers from FLIK, New York University Swim Team, Stuyvesant High School, Disney VoluntEARS, TEAK, and Shake Shack.
Asphalt Screams raised over $12,000 to support our free community programs. If you had a blast and would like to support other public events, you may make a donation here. Snowman Showdown will be next after the first snowfall!
