On November 7, Rachel Holzberg will step to the starting line of the New York City Marathon with more than 30,000 other people. As one of Asphalt Green’s charity racers, Rachel is racing not only for herself but also to improve the lives of New Yorkers through sports and fitness. Get to know Rachel better and find out what motivated her to run 26.2.   

 

Q: What inspired or motivated you to run the NYC marathon? 

A:  My grandfather ran the marathon and I want to follow in his footsteps. 

 

Q: Why did you want to run with Team Asphalt Green? 

A:  I love Asphalt Green and what the organization stands for: sports and fitness for all New Yorkers.  

 

Q: What do you love about running? 

A: I love the freedom and clarity running provides you.  

 

Q: How do you stay motivated during training? 

A: I stay motivated by keeping track of my workouts, good music, and talking about training with friends.  

 

Q:  Why are sports and fitness important? 

A: Sports and fitness are important because they bring energy and peace of mind into your life.
