Our annual Coins for Campers fundraiser is off to a great start, thanks to a group of 28 volunteers from the Moody’s Corporation!
On May 20, The Moody’s Foundation volunteers invaded Asphalt Green in Battery Park City to help us prepare for our coin drive. Coins for Campers encourages campers to bring in spare change to support our Summer Day Camp scholarship fund.
Volunteers divided into two groups and conquered. Armed with motivating tunes, craft supplies, and creative minds, the groups designed two festive donation boxes that we hope will inspire generosity. Beginning June 29, the boxes will be placed in the AquaCenter on the Upper East Side and in the lobby at our Battery Park City campus (don’t worry—we’ll remind you!).
The Summer Day Camp scholarship fund makes it possible for kids from all economic backgrounds to experience the joy of summer camp. Additionally, it shows kids that philanthropy can be fun!
We would like to thank The Moody’s Foundation and the team from Moody’s Corporation for helping us with our efforts to raise money for Summer Day Camp scholarships. Last year, campers raised an impressive $19,000. We hope this year is our most successful yet!
Next time you come in to work out, bring your loose change, dollars, or checks to help make a difference in the lives of children in our community!
