Campers emptied their piggy banks, searched their pockets for spare change, and raided their parents’ wallets to collect money for our annual Coins for Campers fundraiser.
Their hard work paid off. Campers raised $21,839.15 for our Summer Day Camp Scholarship Fund, which gives campers from all economic backgrounds the opportunity to experience summer camp.
We challenged our campers to up the ante this year, and they rose to the occasion. Last year, the fundraiser brought in $19,000, and we blew past that figure by over $2,800.
There was some friendly competition and incentive among the camp divisions. The groups from our Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses that raise the most money celebrate with a private party and hands-on cooking for kids at the Conrad New York hotel.
And the winners are…
- Cardinal 2 (Upper East Side)
- Teddy 3 (Battery Park City)
Congratulations to all our winners! The competition was close; we were counting pennies, nickels, and dimes until the final minutes of the coin drive.
Thank you to all our dedicated campers for supporting Summer Day Camp scholarships and giving more kids the opportunity attend camp next year!
