Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses were taken over by ghouls, goblins, Batmans, and princesses during Asphalt Screams, our annual free Halloween event. Held on October 30, we welcomed 4,000 people for an afternoon of spooky, sporty fun.
Families and kids of all ages came in costume and participated in a variety of active games on our outdoor fields including a Spooktacular Soccer Shootout, Ghoulish Gaga, a speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) obstacle course, a bouncy house, and more. Inside, at our Battery Park City campus, kids visited our pumpkin patch-themed cookie decorating station, and at our Upper East Side campus, children braved the eerie Haunted Mazur Hall.
The event was successful, in large part, thanks to support from our sponsors and volunteers. Big thank yous go to our lead sponsors New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine and our volunteers from Moody’s Corporation, FLIK International, and Stuyvesant High School. We would also like to thank Insomnia Cookies for generously donating cookies for the activities in our pumpkin patch for the second year in a row!
