Q: I have tested positive for COVID-19. What do I do?
A: First, contact Asphalt Green via email. Members should contact their respective campus (Upper East Side: uesmembership@asphaltgreen.org | Battery Park City: bpcmembership@asphaltgreen.org), program and team participants should email their program manager or head coach. Include when you received your most recent positive test result and dates of any recent visits to Asphalt Green (indoors or outdoors) or dates you participated in off-site Asphalt Green programming.
You may return to Asphalt Green when you have completed a five-day quarantine AND you are symptom-free and you have not had a fever in 24 hours.
Q: I or someone in my household has been in close contact with someone that tested positive for COVID-19. What do I do?
A: Monitor your symptoms. As long as you are symptom-free, you may continue to visit Asphalt Green. Help keep our community safe, do not come to Asphalt Green if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, including mild symptoms. If you think you have COVID-19, please get tested. You may return to Asphalt Green if you receive a negative test result and have been symptom-free for 24 hours.
Q: Someone in my household has been in close contact with someone that tested positive for COVID-19. What do I do?

Q: What does Asphalt Green consider “close contact”?
A: Per CDC guidelines, close contact is defined as having been less than 6 feet away from an infected person for a cumulative of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.
Q: How long do I need to be symptom-free before returning to Asphalt Green?
A: Visitors must be symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to Asphalt Green.
Q: What types of tests does Asphalt Green accept?
A: All lab tests, including PCR, NAAT, or antigen are accepted. Home tests are also accepted.
Q: How do I submit my negative results after exposure or recovery from COVID-19 after a positive test?
A: Email your results to your program manager or head coach. Members should email their results to their respective campus (Upper East Side: uesmembership@asphaltgreen.org | Battery Park City: bpcmembership@asphaltgreen.org). Be sure to include your full name, date of birth, and a lab report from a legitimate facility or proof of a negative result from an at-home test.
VACCINE MANDATE FAQ
Q: Due to the suspension of the vaccine mandate, I no longer want to participate in a program that I am registered for. What is your refund policy?
A: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Registration Office. Refunds are computed from the date received (not postmarked). The program refund schedule is as follows: For 100% refund or credit, written request must be received one week prior to the first scheduled class. For 75% refund or credit, written request must be received two days prior to the second scheduled class. No refunds will be granted after the second class session.

Q: Is Asphalt Green open?
A. The fitness centers and pools are open to members and day pass holders. Programs are available in-person. Learn more.
Q: Where can I find new policies and procedures?

Q: What is Asphalt Green’s mask policy?
A: Effective March 4, 2022, Asphalt Green is a mask-optional facility. Masks are no longer required in any indoor or outdoor areas, including elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and lobbies. This policy may change based on new information, including local case numbers, as well as guidelines from the City, State, or federal mandates.
Q: Will saunas and steam rooms be available?
A: The steam rooms and saunas on the Upper East side are open. The steam rooms in Battery Park City are open.
Q: Are reservations required?
A: Effective June 28, 2021, reservations are no longer required for member lap swim, fitness center, or gymnasium use, AGUA Masters practices, and adult water polo practices. Reservation are still required for group exercise and water exercise classes.
Q: How do I make a reservation for a group exercise or water exercise class?
A: Manage your bookings online or by downloading the Asphalt Green MindBody app (we recommend using the app). Here’s how to reserve time at our facility:
1. Download the Asphalt Green app (powered by MindBody) on your mobile device.
2. Open the app to log in.
3. If you have never purchased a program, create a login and password. Use the email address you provided Asphalt Green when you joined, then reset your password. If you have signed up for personal training or another fitness offering, use the same login and password.
4. Make a reservation.
You’re all set! If you need to cancel, you can do so through the app or online — no need to call.

Q: How do I download the Asphalt Green MindBody app?
A: Visit the app store and search for “Asphalt Green” to download (App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices).
Q: How do I log in to my Asphalt Green MindBody account?
A: If you have purchased fitness programs in the past (personal training, Pilates, etc.), use the same login that you used for those offerings. If you have never purchased a fitness program, use the email address you use for your Asphalt Green, and update your password.
Q: Can I modify or cancel a reservation?
A: You can modify or cancel your reservation through the Asphalt Green MindBody app or online. Cancellations require 24-hours' notice.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: If you accrue three no shows or late cancellations (within two hours of your reservation), your registration capabilities will be suspended for seven days. After seven days, you will be able to book a group exercise session. After a third no show, every subsequent no show will result in a one-week suspension. All no-shows and late cancellations will reset quarterly. Though it will only be noted if you cancel within two hours of your reservation, Asphalt Green encourages 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Please note, you must cancel online or through the Asphalt Green app.
Q: Are the locker rooms open?
A: The locker rooms will be open to change clothes, use the restroom, shower, and store your belongings. To reduce foot traffic, we recommend bringing as few belongings as possible.
Q: Where can I store my personal belongings?

Q: Will I be able to shower at Asphalt Green?
A. Yes. However, we encourage showers to be kept under three minutes to reduce crowding in locker rooms.
Q: Does lap swim include deep water running?
A: Yes, you may do your choice of exercise in your assigned lane. If you choose to do deep water running, you must bring your own gear. Please note that the pool is configured for lap swim, so deep water runners may need to adjust accordingly.
Q: When will group exercise classes resume?
A: Group exercise classes returned March 22, 2021. View Upper East Side and Battery Park City schedules.
Q: When are water exercise classes coming back?
A: Water exercise classes returned September 11, 2021.
Q: Can I take more than one class in a day?
A: Yes, you can register for multiple classes in a single day.
Q: How many people are allowed in a class?
A: Class sizes vary depending on the studio size. The maximum class size is between eight and 14 people.
Q: Is the gymnasium in Battery Park City open for recreation time?
A: The gymnasium is open for member recreation as of November 1, 2020.
Q: Why are the windows in the fitness center and group exercise studios closed?
A: Our upgraded air filtration system, CASPR (Continuous Air and Surface Pathogen Reduction), functions best with the windows closed. CASPR is the same system that services general surgery units in hospitals. Opening the windows reduces its efficiency. It’s more effective to control the environment with the windows closed.
Q: Can I drop in or bring a guest?
A: Guest passes are not permitted. As of December 1, 2021, non-members may purchase day passes for $35; please reach out to membership@asphaltgreen.org for more information. As of June 28, 2021, visitors must use our online reservation system for group exercise and water exercise classes only. Non-members may purchase individual group exercise classes.
Q: What is your lost and found policy?
A: Valuables (keys, jewelry, phone, wallet, glasses, etc.) are kept for up to three months. Swimsuits are kept for up to 72 hours. Non-valuables (water bottles, swim caps, goggles, clothing, etc.) are kept until the end of business day.
Q: Can I watch my child practice?
A: Spectator access is limited and varies by program. Details will be communicated to all registrants by the program's manager.
Q: What is the cancellation policy for missed programs and classes?
A: The value paid for any programs/classes that were cancelled as a result of COVID-19 will be honored in full. In accordance with our cancellation policy (below), Asphalt Green will make every effort to schedule make-up sessions for missed classes. In the event that make-up classes cannot be scheduled, a credit for the prorated value of your remaining classes will be issued to your Asphalt Green account. This credit will be valid for use on purchases made until one year from the computed date, and can be applied to any class or program at Asphalt Green. It is not transferable or refundable.
PROGRAM CANCELLATION AND MAKEUP POLICY: If Asphalt Green cancels a class due to an unforeseen, uncontrollable circumstance (e.g., pool closure) a makeup class will be offered. In the event a makeup cannot be arranged, a credit will be issued upon request. View our complete list of policies here.
Q: If my child is on a competitive team (AGUA, AGSC, etc.), what will their experience be?
A: For all competitive team updates, please contact your child's program head directly.
Q: How do I get off of freeze?
A: If you are currently a member on freeze and would like to reactivate your membership, please email your respective campus:

Q: How can I reduce my risk of becoming sick?
A: Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, stay home if you are not feeling well, and practice social distancing.
