Asphalt Green offers an array of certifications throughout the year including American Red Cross certifications which are national certifications that satisfy many job requirements for the professional rescuer or health care provider.

To participate in any of our American Red Cross courses, please select your program:

  • Lifeguard Programs — Earn your American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at Asphalt Green. This comprehensive course provides you with the critical skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. You’ll learn how to manage breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until professional help arrives. The course includes First Aid, CPR, and AED training, with a minimum of 28 hours of instruction both in and out of the water. Attendance at all classes is mandatory. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a two-year certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.
    • Pre-requisite Requirements: To participate, candidates must pass the following American Red Cross prerequisites:
      • Swim 150 yards continuously using either freestyle or breaststroke.
      • Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs. Followed by 50 yd swim continuously using either freestyle or breaststroke.
      • Complete a timed 20-yard swim, retrieve a 10-pound brick from at least 7 feet deep, and return it to the surface.
    • Throughout the course, participants will be assessed on the following:
      • Lifeguarding skills, water rescues, CPR, AED, and First Aid.
      • Scenario-based skills assessments, including: Surveillance rotation, Timed Single-Rescuer CPR, and Multiple Rescuer Response Scenario
      • Final written exam with 50 questions, requiring a minimum score of 80%.

  • CPR and AED Programs — Unlock lifesaving skills in our CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer class. This single-session program accommodates various skill levels and ensures you master crucial techniques, equipping you to respond effectively in emergency situations. Don't miss the opportunity to gain valuable CPR and AED skills to make a difference when it matters most.
  • NEW! Lifeguard Review Class — Lifeguard recertification can be achieved with Lifeguarding Review classes that refresh your knowledge and skills and update your certification for another two years. To participate in the Lifeguard Review class you must have a current lifeguard certification, or certification expired by no more than 30 days.
