About
Asphalt Screams is our annual, free Halloween festival that brings together families from all over New York City for an afternoon of ghostly delights, family-friendly frights, and unforgettable memories. Open to all, Asphalt Screams offers New Yorkers of ages and abilities the opportunity to get in costume, get active, and get in the spirit through activites, entertainment, and goodies.
This year's Asphalt Screams is expected to be the largest in Asphalt Green history. To accomodate the thousands of New Yorkers expected to attend, we're expanding the event beyond Litwin Field onto 90th Street between York Ave and East End Ave with even more carnival games and activities for everyone.
For the first time, Asphalt Screams 2024 will offer a sensory-friendly experience for families and individuals who require a quieter and more controlled environment during the first hour of the event. This inclusive session features exciting activities like parachute play and a sensory-friendly bounce castle, all set to festive Halloween music played at a lower volume. With limited capacity and RSVP required, attendees can enjoy a fun, stress-free Halloween celebration tailored to their needs.

Asphalt Screams advances Asphalt Green's mission to transform lives and build community through sports, fitness, and play for all by providing space for New Yorkers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to get active together.
All proceeds from the event from the event will go toward programs such as Asphalt Green’s free Community Sports Leagues, Waterproofing, and Recess Enhancement Program, which offer organized sports and play to tens of thousands of public-school students, and scholarship program that, last year, surpassed over $430,000 and empowers gifted young athletes to join our nationally competitive travel teams.
FAQs
Are strollers allowed on the field?
Strollers are allowed on the field but not in the haunted maze. Please note, there will be no designated stroller parking at the event, and we are not responsible for lost strollers or items.
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
The field, including the entrance, exit, and restrooms, is wheelchair accessible. Many of our activations are also suitable for attendees using wheelchairs, however, the haunted maze is not wheelchair accessible.
Can I bring a fake/prop weapon to the event?
While we understand your desire for creative expression, we prioritize the safety and comfort of all attendees. We strongly discourage the presence of fake or prop weapons. If such items are deemed to pose a risk to others or are considered inappropriate, you may be kindly requested to store them away or exit the event to ensure everyone's enjoyment and safety.
Am I allowed to bring pets?
Although we love all furry friends, pets are not allowed at the event. However, service dogs are permitted and welcome to assist those who require their support.
Can I bring my own food and/or beverages to the event?
Outside food and drink are not permitted. We will have a limited selection of snacks and beverages available on-site, including complimentary options as well as items available for purchase.

How can I make a donation?
- Online anytime: You can make a donation online at any time here.
- QR codes at the event: To make online donations even more accessible, you'll find QR codes for donations displayed on signs throughout the event venue.
- In-person at the event: If you prefer to donate in person, you can do so at the event. Look for our donation stations at the main entrance and exit. We accept donations in various forms, including cash and card payments. We also support Apple Pay for your convenience.
