Asphalt Green’s Upper east Side campus is the ideal place for the community to come together, stay active, and enjoy recreation in the heart of the city. The campus features two primary buildings and expansive outdoor spaces, offering a variety of programs and facilities to meet the needs of every age and fitness level.

The AquaCenter // A five-story facility home to our Olympic-sized pool, perfect for lap and competitive swim, and a smaller teaching & exercise pool for swim lessons and aqua fitness. The AquaCenter also houses our duplex fitness center offering state-of-the-art equipment and stunning views of the East River.
The Murphy Center // Our historic building — named after Asphalt Green founders Dr. George E. Murphy and his wife Annette — honors their vision of transforming the landmark Municipal Asphalt Plant into a community recreation center. Opened in 1984, the Murphy Center features four levels of recreational space, including areas dedicated to fitness classes, sports programs, and special events.
Public Outdoor Spaces // The campus boasts a FIFA-certified, full-sized soccer field (Litwin Field), an outdoor basketball court, and a plaza with a sundial, providing ample room for sports, fitness, and play, and relaxation.

Olympic Pool

Dive into our Olympic-sized pool, perfect for competitive swimming and lap training. Temperate ranges from 79 to 82 degrees.

TEACHING & EXERCISE Pool

Enjoy a smaller, warm-water pool designed for lessons, aqua fitness, and recreational swim for kids and adults. Temperature ranges from 89 to 92 degrees.
