Summer Stipend: $5,300- $8,500
Our sports coaches lead the way, providing age-appropriate instruction to our campers in their areas of expertise. Specialists and coaches are expected to participate in all camp events, special events, and theme days, as well as helping with arrival and dismissal. A strong background in classroom management and lesson planning is required for this position.
Sports Coach (reports to Sports Manager)
- Guide groups and individual campers in successfully participating in the focus sports
- Ensure safety of all players
- Develop and lead age-appropriate lesson plans for all ages
- Develop sport-specific skills and promote sportsmanship
- Work with the Sports Manager to ensure quality programing
- Communicate with group counselors, needs of the lesson and delegate responsibilities.
- Promote camp values
- Work with Sports Manager on campus wide events

Summer Stipend: $5,300- $8,500
Our camp art specialists inspire creativity, providing age-appropriate instruction in various artistic mediums to our campers. Specialists are expected to actively participate in all camp activities, including special events, theme days, and daily transitions such as arrival and dismissal. A strong background in lesson planning and classroom management is essential for this role, ensuring a fun, engaging, and structured artistic experience for every camper.
- Create and lead weekly age-appropriate lesson plans for each age group
- Work with Head of Arts (HoA) and Program Manager to order supplies needed for activities
- Participate and support campus-wide special events and theme days
- Communicate with group counselors, needs of the lesson and delegate responsibilities.
- Prep materials for projects in advance of activities
- Support camper creativity and skill building.
- Champion and model the Camp Value system.
Reporting to Division Leaders, Head Counselors are our front-line leaders. They travel with their groups throughout the day managing campers and group counselors. Effective communication, problem solving, organization, leadership, and behavior management are key skills required to be successful in this role.
Summer Stipend: $5,120
- Identify and meet campers’ needs.
- Communicate camper/ group issues and needs to the Division Leader.
- Champion and model the Camp Value system.
- Take the lead on behavior management for the group.
- Supervise campers on field trips.
- Supervise General and Junior Counselors assigned to your group.
- Delegate responsibility to the General and Junior Counselors.
- Communicate with group counselors about upcoming events and group issues.
- Participate in all camp activities and special events.
- Swim with the campers and assist the aquatics department with lessons and safety protocols.
- Check lost & found daily and ensure that your campers have all their belongings.
- Take daily attendance of all campers.
- Follow daily schedule and ensure group arrives at activities on-time.
- Greet parents and follow all arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Ensure all camp facilities and equipment are well maintained and accounted for.
- Follow policies and procedures explained in the staff handbook and Counselor Agreement.
Reporting to Head Counselors, General Counselors travel with their group from activity to activity. They focus on the supervision and care of campers and lead by example, participating in group and camper programing while assisting the Head Counselors and specialists. Caring, energy, and responsibility are important characteristics for this role.
Summer Stipend: $3,830
- Identify and meet campers’ needs.
- Supervise campers during activities on- and off-campus (field trips).

- Communicate camper issues to the Head Counselor.
- Transition campers to activities.
- Assist with camper behavior management.
- Support/ facilitate camper group dynamics.
- Participate in all camp activities and special events.
- Swim with the campers and assist the aquatics department with lessons and safety protocols.
- Facilitate morning and afternoon snacks.
- Follow all arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Ensure all camp facilities and equipment are well maintained and accounted for.
- Follow policies and procedures explained in the staff handbook and Counselor Agreement.
Division Leaders are experienced professionals who oversee their respective divisions. There are one to two Division Leaders per division. Division Leaders focus on staff management, camper management, and parent communication.
Summer Stipend: $8,125
- Engage with campers, keeping daily notes and handling any camper issues within your division
- Maintain open communication channels with parents via verbal and written mediums, resolving issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with camp management to train and evaluate Head, General, and Junior Counselors
- Manage/ coach a team of counselors ensuring expectation levels are being met, correcting behavior where necessary, and reporting issues to camp management
- Evaluate staff to encourage development in performance and skills
- Foster an inclusive environment and work with campers with diverse needs and behaviors
- Observe programming and act as quality control to ensure all programs are carried out the Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp standards
- Promote Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp value program
- Cultivate camp culture by collaborating with camp management team in any special event planning and execution
Summer Stipend: $10,000
Our camp nurse is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers and staff. This role involves administering first aid, managing medications, responding to medical needs, and promoting a safe and healthy camp environment. The nurse should be compassionate, organized, and able to handle a variety of medical situations in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication skills are key to providing top-quality care.
- Maintain good relations with campers, camp parent and camp staff
- Manage distribution of camper medication
- Inform Director and/ or Associate Director of camper/counselor/parent problems
- Handle all injuries and paperwork resulting from injuries
- Communicate with parents about all health/ medical issues
- Document injuries in accordance with the DOH
- Assist in medical planning for any off-site trips
- To use appropriate problem-solving skills when needed
Summer Stipend: $5300- $6,900
Our camp photographer plays a vital role in capturing the energy, excitement, and unforgettable moments of camp life. From action shots of campers at activities to group photos and special events, the photographer helps tell the story of camp through vibrant images. This role requires strong photography skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor setting. Photographers should be organized, adaptable, and ready to engage with campers and staff to document the magic of camp!
- Record camper smiles and engagement for posting on Asphalt Green’s social media, marketing, and CampMinder account.
- Document the daily activities of all camp groups — equal coverage of all age groups is essential – navigating throughout the assigned campus.
- Selecting, organizing and editing photos to be uploaded to our parent portal. A background in social media will be an asset.
- Maintain and organize digital assets on the network server in a timely fashion
- Work closely with the Marketing Department as photos are ultimately included in camp marketing materials
- Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to catch a smile, a special moment or event are critical. The camp photographer is in the business of making memories through their images.
- Good judgment with regards to image quality and appropriateness is also crucial. Photos are reviewed daily by parents searching for images of their camper(s) having fun while at camp.
