Asphalt Green’s Youth Flag Football League offers kids the chance to get involved in competitive play. The season begins with fundamentals and preparation, where players develop a strong foundation in throwing, catching, running, set plays, and offensive and defensive strategies under the guidance of our experienced coaches.
Once players are game-ready, the focus shifts to league play, featuring refereed games that build teamwork and confidence. The season concludes with exciting playoffs and championships, where athletes showcase their growth and skills in a competitive environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
We use the first three weeks as “Welcome/Evaluation” weeks. Before Week 4, the staff meets and drafts the most fun, most fair and most safe teams possible for the greater good of the football community. Those teams are rolled out live on the field Week 4 during what we call “Meet the Team” week.
We have an officiating staff that uses rules paired most directly with those used by NFL Flag Football—they are an entity that plays football every day, year-round, and worldwide. They’ve done the research on the best ways to play. We’ve made a few tweaks to make it work best for Asphalt Green and our time and space allowances.
During Meet the Team week you’ll be given a jersey-shirt and a mouth guard.

We do not offer trial classes at this time

Refunds:
Refund requests must be submitted via email (verbal requests will not be accepted) as follows: Upper East Side: registration@asphaltgreen.org OR Battery Park City: bpcregistration@asphaltgreen.org. Note that refunds are calculated from the date received, not when postmarked. There is a $15 fee for refunds, class transfers, and cancellations. Administrative fees are nonrefundable. The refund schedule follows:
- 100% refund: written request must be received one (1) week prior to the first class
- 75% refund: written request must be received two (2) days prior to the second class. No refunds or credits will be granted after the second class.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing of a refund request. The policy on refunds does not apply to late registrations. No refunds are available for private lessons; credits only.
