Asphalt Green's Community Basketball League expands access to organized sports by bringing free and low cost sports programming to public and charter school students.

Basketball For All

Asphalt Green’s Community Basketball League advances our mission to expand access to sports, fitness, and play by organizing interscholastic league play for public and charter middle schools that lack access to organized sports. Each season, Asphalt Green hosts games at The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School and provides uniforms, professional referees, and award ceremonies before teams vie for the championship in March.

Our Community Basketball League adheres to the same standard of excellence as our fee-based programming, uses the same coaches, and pursues the same developmental goals. We aim to help participants build essential life skills including teamwork, perseverance, accountability and work ethic, grow their passion for the sport, and engage in healthy and active social activity.

Being part of a team means being able to depend on your teammates, work together, trust each other, respect each other, and become a family. This impacts me on a day-to-day basis because it reminds me of my most important goals: go to class, finish all four years of high school, and get a scholarship to college for either singing or basketball.
