Youth Recreational Basketball League

The major difference is gameplay. During our academies the focus of each session will be on an individual and team skill of the week. These sessions will be geared towards improving specific skills in a controlled environment without the pressure of competition. Our recreational league is our in-house league. All games take place at our Battery Park City campus. Participants will receive a jersey, head coach and gameplay each week. 

Staff, structure and options. All of our coaches are USA certified and follow our carefully constructed curriculum. Asphalt Green basketball academies and leagues feature gameplay and skill instruction. Whether your child is playing basketball for the first time, trying to scratch the competitive itch in a controlled environment, Asphalt Green’s recreational programming has offerings for your child ages 3-13.  

The Asphalt Green travel basketball program has grown leaps on bounds over the years. During the upcoming year (2024-2025) we will have 24 travel basketball teams. Why is this important to you? Well, this is up from 14 teams during the 2021-2022 season. Asphalt Green has allocated significant resources in acquiring additional practice space for our players, incorporated digital components to enhance the players experiences both on and off the court and improved our footprint in communities outside of Battery Park City. If you play for Asphalt Green, your player will have the unique ability to participate in local, regional and national events for our most competitive teams.  

We offer private lessons when the schedule allows for it. Please note that space will vary session to session.
