As 2015 draws to a close, we look back on what we have accomplished as a community. Together we’ve made a difference in the lives of 33,000 New Yorkers. The power of your gift has no limitations—everyone can contribute, and every dollar counts. Here are some highlights from 2015:

Coins for Campers: Our smallest donors made a big impact this year during our annual Coins for Campers fundraiser. Children attending Summer Day Camp collected money to support our Summer Day Camp Scholarship Fund, which gives kids from all economic backgrounds the opportunity to experience summer camp. After emptying their piggy banks, campers raised $21,839.15.

Flag football pep rally: PepsiCo sponsored our flag football Community Sports League, and they joined us for a pep rally. We welcomed 12 teams to our athletic field on a Saturday night for a fun evening of football and to celebrate the hard work athletes have put into the season.

Barrie and Al Zesiger honored for their contributions: Longtime board members and founders of our AquaCenter were honored at an Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (AGUA) Swim Team practice. It was the Zesigers vision to build the AquaCenter with an Olympic-sized pool that houses our swim classes, free learn-to-swim Waterproofing program, and competitive team practices and meets.

Soccer team family hosted barbecue to raise money for indoor turf field: Ramesh and Farida Singh opened their home to host a barbecue benefiting our new indoor turf field at our Upper East Side campus. They raised about $20,000 to help bring sports and fitness opportunities to more New Yorkers.
