Congratulations to Asphalt Green Board Member Pat Saunders for receiving a Woman of Distinction honor from the New York State Assembly.
Saunders was honored at a ceremony celebrating Women’s History Month for her service to the community, notably her integral role in raising money for Swim for the Future, a scholarship that gives children with financial need a chance to pursue competitive swimming.
Since 2001, 226 scholarships have been awarded to deserving swimmers on the AGUA Swim Team, due in large part to Saunders’ dedication to the program.
Assembly member Rebecca A. Seawright presented Saunders with her well-deserved award on March 20.
