On November 7, Michael Hall will step to the starting line of the New York City Marathon with more than 30,000 other people. As one of Asphalt Green’s charity racers, Michael is racing not only for himself but also to improve the lives of New Yorkers through sports and fitness. Get to know Michael better and find out what motivated him to run 26.2.   

 

Q: What inspired or motivated you to run the NYC marathon? 

A: During the pandemic, I turned to running to support my mental health.  

 

Q: Why did you want to run with Team Asphalt Green? 

A: I appreciate how Asphalt Green reopened during the pandemic for the benefit of the community.  

 

Q: What do you love about running? 

A: I love running because it is a challenge and experiencing a “runners high” is great.  

 

Q: How do you stay motivated during training? 

A: I stay motivated by organizing my training to be ready by race day.  

 

Q:  Why are sports and fitness important? 

A: Sports and fitness are important because in order to have a strong mind you need to have a strong body. 

 

Q: What songs are on your running playlist? 

A: My favorite artists to listen to while running are Kygo and Matisyahu.
