On April 25, Asphalt Green will honor one of its biggest supporters during its biggest fundraising event, The Big Swim! Glenwood, a residential property management company, has been a strong advocate of Asphalt Green since 1984. Not only has Glenwood been instrumental in developing a sense of community in the Manhattan neighborhood of Yorkville, but after more than 30 years they continue to stand behind Asphalt Green’s mission to bring sports and fitness programs to New Yorker’s across the city.

During The Big Swim, we will host a fun, public swim meet for 1,000 young swimmers ages 6-12, at our Upper East Side campus. The event celebrates the impact Asphalt Green’s community programs have on over 31,000 New Yorkers and exemplifies the vision shared by Glenwood founder Leonard Litwin, and the founder of Asphalt Green, Dr. George E. Murphy of a widely accessible space for sports and fitness activities.

“The Big Swim celebrates what makes Asphalt Green so special–our sports, fitness, families, and fun–and all while serving the community,” says Maggy Siegel, Executive Director of Asphalt Green.

“As we mark The Big Swim’s twentieth year, it’s fitting that we honor Glenwood, whose generosity has helped us bring health and fitness to thousands of New Yorkers,” she explains. “Without Glenwood’s vision and dedication, our Yorkville neighborhood would not be the thriving community that it is today. We thank Glenwood and look forward to celebrating with them!”
